About Seminar

The topic of 2018 Sabancı Foundation Philanthropy Seminar is “Technologies for Life without Barriers”. Within the frame of this topic, we would like to discuss the relation between technology and independent living. “How does technology affect the life quality of persons with disabilities? Can technological advancements that we always perceive as an opportunity be a threat for disability rights? Is it possible to achieve independent living through technology?” These are the questions that we will look for an answer in our seminar where we will also watch inspiring performances as well as experience technologies from Turkey and abroad.

As Sabancı Foundation, we adopted the principle to follow new developments in philanthropy and civil society sector and share experiences to shape our work to contribute to social development for 44 years. For this purpose, we have been organizing the Sabancı Foundation Philanthropy Seminars since 2007 and bring participants from Turkey and abroad together to discuss new trends in strategic philanthropy and methods in social change.
